Children must not be left with a broken planet

Right now, our children’s futures are in danger.

In March 2024, climate scientists announced we were in “unknown territory” after 10 months of record-breaking global temperatures.

For years, governments and parts of the private sector have put profit before people and the planet.

The price of this? Unpredictable and extreme weather. Floods. Droughts. Livelihoods destroyed.

And while children are not responsible for this mess we are in, they have the most to lose.

They deserve better than this.

That's why at school strikes, climate summits and on social media, children around the world are calling for a greener, fairer future:

A world where everyone has enough to eat.

A world where children have a decent start and a fair chance in life, with good jobs and a safe home.

And where our natural environment can flourish and be enjoyed by everyone.

Children are raising the alarm. They expect more from the adults in charge.

Add your name if you agree: children must not be left with a broken planet.
