WILL YOU STAND UP FOR UK AID?
All children, wherever they are, deserve to go to school and have hopeful futures.
The UK government helps the world’s poorest countries to stand on their own two feet through its aid budget.
UK aid has helped 11 million children get an education in the last 5 years. That’s more than the entire population of Sweden.
This has been made possible through the UK’s tireless commitment to making the world safer, fairer and more equal.
But our country’s commitment to supporting the world’s most vulnerable children is under threat. Sensationalised media headlines mislead the public and undermine our trust in aid. The task before us isn’t easy, but it is vitally important. Please add your details to show your support.
Thep is 11 years old and lives in South Sudan. He is part of the ‘Education for All’ UK aid funded programme that helps children catch up with learning. In the past, Thep was often so hungry that he had to look for food rather than attend school. He missed so much of his education that he had to repeat one year three times.
“Sometimes in class I felt hungry and it was hard to concentrate. All I was thinking about was finding something to eat for me and my family. I think with the right support I can achieve what I am hoping for…education is key for life.”
